About Precious Sleep
Precious Sleep offers infant and child sleep solutions, enabling kids to fall asleep independently. Its founder, Wing Yan, is a sleep consultant and a mother of two who provides personalized one-on-one coaching to parents who seek to solve their baby’s sleep issues. Her methods are gentle, flexible and cater to the need of every family.
Wing Yan is trained and certified by Dana Obleman - founder of Sleep Sense, USA. Many are not aware of the infant & child sleep consultant services within Asia, this is quite a new and niche service. She is currently the 2nd consultant in Malaysia.
Our Philosophy
A good and sound sleep will ensure that a child will have a solid foundation for a proper mind and body development. The method I was trained in was created out of the strong belief that healthy sleep habits make for healthy children. A well-rested child is curious, energetic, happy, playful, and eager to learn. Isn’t that what you want for your little ones?
I always believe that a child should learn the independence of sleeping, it is a life skill that they will have to learn on their own, but the good news is – YOU can help with the process! I place great importance on accommodating different parenting styles, and the bottom line is that you, need to be comfortable with your new sleep plan in order for it to work for your child.
Parents place a great deal of trust in me when they come to me for help, and I want you to know that I take this responsibility very seriously.

FAQs
Certainly so! With the beauty of technology nowadays, most of my consultations are through emails and over the phone/ Skype/ FaceTime. My consultations are in English, and I accept international PayPal payments.
Crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. However, I will never ask you to leave your child alone to cry if that is not something that feels right for you, that’s the beauty of this program, we can develop a sleep plan that you are comfortable with.
The consultation will take place over 2 or 3 weeks (depending on child’s age), where it includes a private 60-90mins consultation, detailed and fully customised sleep plan, and follow up phone calls/ WhatsApp/ email support throughout the consultation. The detailed solution will be in your child’s sleep plan, customised according to your child’s needs.
The sleep plan is not medical advice, it is a step by step plan to help your child sleep better and not intended to replace medical advise from your doctor or paediatrician or other trained health care professionals. It is recommended that you seek the advise of a doctor regarding any matters that may require medical attention or diagnosis. Doctors may recommend their patients to see a sleep consultant if they think the parent or child needs help, however, this will be up to the parents to take up the advise
The program stresses on the importance of letting children learn how to soothe themselves into deep, restful sleep. It teaches your child to be independent and not rely on their parents or props (eg. rocked to sleep/ bottle/ pacifier/ nursing) to help them sleep. Healthy sleep habits make for healthy children, and uninterrupted sleep can improve a child’s immune system, mood and brain development.
Sleep consultations/ coaching for babies are a novelty in Malaysia & the South East Asian region, and yes this is a pretty new concept! I am one of the two infant & child sleep consultants in Malaysia, and yes, there are so many more all around the world (and growing)!
The sleep program I trained under was created by Dana Obleman, USA, as a direct result of her extensive research. Her methods teach parents and children to be independent sleepers, which has been proven with over 30,000 clients the past 13 years.

Thank you Wing Yan! - 8 months infant
Eunice Seah , sent on 12/07/2020We've decided to approach Wing Yan for professional help, instead of introducing ways that could be not so ideal for our little one. And we are not proficient in sleep scheduling and the myriad of information available online is just too overwhelming.
Wing Yan has a pleasant disposition and is approachable. Her response is fast and communication is superb. Upon engaging her (but yet to start the training officially) , I was telling her about the bad nap our little one had for the day. Wing Yan immediately gave us suggestion on what we could do to put our little one to nap. Thankful for the extra mile.
As our little one attends childcare during the day, we started training with Bedtime sleep. The training allows you to provide comfort to your child too, not just letting him/her cry all the way. At about the 2nd/3rd night we saw improvement. I used to latch-to-sleep and carry our little one till deep sleep, before putting our little one down. And I'm the only one who can put him to sleep, and not daddy. But now, we placed our little one down WIDE AWAKE and PEACEFUL. Daddy can put our little one to bed too. Our little one has also learn how to self soothe at some point.
The little one usually takes crappy naps at childcare, I'll consult Wing Yan on what we could do to improve the naps. Her response is quick. In addition, day naps are challenging and abit tricky, which we have yet to successfully train our little one, but in progress. Wing Yan is always providing us with constant support during these challenging day naps. Also setting ideal goals that is achievable.
Though there are still areas where we and our little one could improve on, we could safely say that we are happy that little one could put himself to sleep at bedtime. Thank you Wing Yan!

Our nights have become more restful, thanks Wing Yan - 3 months infant
Faith Liang , sent on 24/10/2019Wing Yan has provided guidance on how to make my 3 month old baby sleep better. With her encouragement, I finally took the leap to wean him off the pacifier and she was there to support me along the way, being extremely patient with my never ending queries. The result of our 2 week stint with Wing Yan has enabled him to move in the right direction to sleep independently and I’m sure with more practice, he will get better at that! As it is, our nights have become more restful, thanks Wing Yan

Wing Yan for being so patience and supportive - 16 months infant
Doris Ngui , sent on 03/10/2019We completed the 14 days coaching on 14/9,which is my birthday gift this year, finally me and my son can sleep! My son slept less than 8 hours in total per day at age of 15 months. Sometimes we as parents only managed to have 2 to 3 hours sleep a day as he only fall asleep around 3am. Besides sleeping, eating solid was also a problem, weight gaining was slow. Wing Yan analyzed and prepared a customized sleep plan. First 2 days were horrible, i felt like giving up, Wing Yan encouraged me and guided me. Slowly the nightwaking gap lengthen and surprisingly my son sleeps through the night before the coaching ends on day 14.
Now he can sleep at normal hours at night, at his own bed own room, eat better, gained weight and grow healthily. Thanks Wing Yan for being so patience and supportive

Friendly yet straight to the point - 12 month infant
Wan Norashikin Samsudin , sent on 19/07/2020After many months of body aches and broken sleep from rocking/nursing to sleep & co-sleeping, and also the lack of a proper schedule & routine, we decided to hire Wing Yan to help us with our then 1yo daughter’s sleep issues. From the get go, she was responsive to all our questions even before we officially hired her, as we wanted to be sure of our choice. The biggest benefit from hiring Wing Yan, in my opinion, was the support provided throughout the tough initial period of sleep learning. Trust me, you will face unexpected issues (every baby is different) and their sleep (and yours!) will probably be worse before it gets much better. We haven’t even started nap training yet and are still working on early wakings, but since our daughter’s night sleep has improved (i.e. earlier bedtime, sleeping mostly through the night, falling asleep independently without me), her daytime naps have become longer & more consistent, and her mood & appetite have improved as well. If you are thinking of hiring a sleep consultant, do consider Wing Yan if you want someone who is friendly yet straight to the point (you don’t want someone who is all over the place when you are sleep deprived!) Thanks so much Wing Yan for your help!
